Foster Care Services for Youth and Teens

Every child has a right to be a member of a healthy and supportive family. Therapeutic Foster Care is a family-based program for children and youth who need support, supervision, and personal intervention. Children and teens served by Phoenix Homes of Tennessee are in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services due to abuse, neglect, delinquent behaviors, or a deficit of support and services faced by their families. Phoenix Homes of Tennessee provides every family with careful matching of a child with their strengths and needs, assessment, and a variety of formal and informal supports. This might include counseling, respite care, tutoring, transportation assistance, community supports, behavior management, job skills coaching, or others services designed by the Phoenix staff and your family.

Phoenix Homes titles foster parents as “Primary Treatment Facilitators” (PTF). We know that your family has the most influence on the care, growth, stability, and treatment of a child. Our treatment focuses on building the skills of the Primary Treatment Facilitator, supporting needs through training, and providing families with the supports and services needed to make a difference in the life of a child.

Phoenix Homes of Tennessee has Family Treatment Coordinators with a small caseload partnering with the PTF to provide help, guidance and support every step of the way.
